“I saw you two in the corner, batting eyes over your punch cups.” Dick tickled Damian in the ribs, and Damian swatted his hand away. “Go on, go ask her to dance.”
Damian sniffed and straightened the tailored jacket of his black suit. He kept his eyes on the pretty little brunette across the ballroom as he answered. “It’s bad enough being dragged along to these dull events. I’m not going to prance about like a monkey in addition.”
“Tell you what,” Dick said, leaning forward with a conspiratorial tone. “You go dance with her, and if you don’t like it, I’ll let you drive next time we’re on patrol.”
